Research Interests
Since June 1996 I have been working on subjects of Astrophysics and
Plasma Physics with professor Loukas Vlahos. My research interests belong
to the fields of Plasma Turbulence as well as Acceleration, Propagation
and Radiation of Energetic Particles.
After completing the cycle of courses of the Graduate Program of
the Physics Department, I undertook my Ph.D. project entitled,
Particle Acceleration in Highly Turbulent Media
for which I am currently working under the supervision of Prof.
Loukas Vlahos and in collaboration with Prof. N. Spyrou and Prof. J. H.
Seiradakis.
More specifically, I study numerical simulations that deal with the
acceleration of charged particles in fully developed turbulent environments,
along with the analytical solution of the equations that describe it.
My research interests generally belong in the following basic areas:
-
Plasma Turbulence and Energetic
Particles.
-
Computers and Computer simulations.
-
Radiation Processes.
-
Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion.
-
Observational Astronomy.
-
Theoretical and Mathematical Physics.
-
Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics.
-
History of Astronomy.
-
Philosophy of Science.
